Most Outfitters have a Hot List for those hunters looking to hunt a specific type of waterfowl. Western Kentucky is part of the Mississippi Flyway and big ducks do come to the lakes along with diver ducks, but not in the volume to call it a big duck hunt. However, every year when conditions are right we have a large volume of big ducks that come to the lakes. When outlying areas start to freeze up, they come to the lakes to feed and stay in the open water. When this happens, we send out a notice to the people on the Hot List.
